Privacy Policy — Photo Cleaner: Swipe Wipe

Photo Cleaner: Swipe Wipe ("Photo Cleaner", "the app", "we") helps you clean up your photo library by swiping. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your data.
The short version
Your photos and videos never leave your device. All scanning, swiping, duplicate detection, and previewing happen entirely on your phone. The app has no photo upload capability at all.
The app requires no account, no email, and no sign-up.
We collect a small amount of anonymous, aggregated usage and crash data to keep the app working well, and the minimum purchase data needed to run subscriptions. None of it identifies you personally and none of it is derived from your photos.
Photos and videos
The app asks for permission to access your photo library so you can review and organize it. Everything is processed on your device:
Scanning, categorizing, and duplicate detection read photo metadata locally and never transmit it anywhere.
Nothing is deleted without your explicit confirmation through the operating system's own deletion dialog.
No photo or video bytes, thumbnails, filenames, file paths, locations, faces, or media identifiers are ever uploaded or shared with anyone — including us.
Your keep/delete decisions, cleaning progress, streaks, and settings are stored in a local database on your device only. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
What we collect
Anonymous usage analytics (PostHog)
To understand which features are used, the app sends a small set of predefined events (for example "onboarding completed", "cleanup completed", "paywall viewed") to PostHog, hosted in the United States. This data is collected automatically and includes:
a randomly generated identifier for your installation (not linked to your name, email, or any account);
coarse ranges instead of real numbers — for example a library size is reported as "1000–4999", never an exact count;
basic device information (device model, operating system version, app version, language).
It never includes photo data of any kind, exact counts, your Support ID, or purchase identifiers. Automatic event capture is disabled.To understand where people get stuck, the app also records fully masked session replays: wireframe recordings of taps and screen navigation in which every text input, every image (including all of your photos), and all system views are masked on your device before anything is sent — recordings contain no readable text, no photo content, and keystrokes are never captured.Like most analytics services, PostHog may infer an approximate, city-level region from the requested IP address; precise location is never collected, and the app itself never reads or sends your location."
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the app crashes, a crash report is sent to Google's Firebase Crashlytics service so we can fix the problem. Reports contain the crash stack trace and basic device information (model, OS version, app version). We never attach user identifiers, your Support ID, purchase information, or anything derived from your photo library to a crash report.
Purchases (RevenueCat and the App Store)
Payments are processed entirely by Apple; we never see your payment card or billing details. To manage your subscription the app uses RevenueCat, which receives:
a randomly generated Support ID (looks like pc_ followed by random characters) that identifies your installation for billing purposes;
your subscription state and store transaction metadata from Apple.
The Support ID is created on your device, is not linked to your identity, and is only ever shown to us if you choose to share it when contacting support.
Anonymous installation record (Supabase)
The app registers an anonymous installation with our backend (Supabase) to fetch remote configuration such as these legal links and version information. The record contains only: a random installation identifier, platform ("ios" or "android"), app version and build number, operating system version, and a last-seen timestamp. Nothing about your photo library or your cleaning activity is stored there. When gifted premium access is granted through support, the related audit records store only hashed identifiers.
What we never collect
No names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, precise location, advertising identifiers, photos, thumbnails, filenames, media metadata, browsing history, or data from other apps. The app shows no ads and contains no ad SDKs.

Data retention and deletion
On-device data (decisions, progress, settings): deleted when you uninstall the app.
Anonymous backend identity: you can request deletion of your installation record at any time by emailing workshipapps@gmail.com.
Analytics and crash data: retained by the respective providers under their standard retention policies; because it is anonymous and aggregated, it cannot be traced back to you.
Security
Data sent off the device travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). The Support ID is stored in the operating system's secure keychain.
Children
Photo Cleaner is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data relating to you. Because the app collects no directly identifying data, most requests are satisfied by uninstalling the app and requesting deletion of your anonymous installation record (see above). For any privacy question or request, contact workshipapps@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or its store listing.
