Check iPhone Storage to confirm that photos and videos are the problem. In Photos, open a video and view its information to inspect its file size. For a focused cleanup set, Pixtrim has a large-video finder; review the clips before confirming removal.

Check the storage category before hunting for files

Go to Settings → General → iPhone Storage. If Photos is a substantial category, media review may help. If the main issue is an app’s downloaded files or System Data, deleting a few videos may not resolve the underlying pressure.

The Photos category includes more than the clips you can see in one screen. Optimization, local downloads and system processing affect what is held on the device. Treat a video cleanup as one targeted action, not a guarantee that the category will shrink immediately by a particular number of gigabytes.

Inspect videos in the Photos app

Find Videos under Media Types in Photos. Collections and Albums layouts differ by iOS release. Open a candidate clip, then use its Info control or information view to see details such as file size. Inspect the content as well: a short important family video may matter more than a longer disposable screen recording.

Apple’s information view helps you inspect individual files. It should not be described as a universal “sort every video largest first” button. Length alone is also an imperfect guide because resolution, frame rate and encoding can change a file’s size.

Start with clips you can confidently let go

Look for accidental recordings, abandoned takes, temporary downloads or long recordings whose purpose has passed. Watch enough of a clip to identify it. A thumbnail from the first second is not always representative of the recording.

If a recording matters, export or otherwise preserve an independent copy first and verify that copy opens. iCloud Photos is a synchronized library. Deleting a synced recording from the phone also affects its cloud copy and other signed-in devices.

Use Pixtrim to create a focused review set

Pixtrim’s large-video cleanup feature helps surface bigger clips for review. The benefit is a smaller set of decisions: identify what a clip is, decide whether it is still useful, review your marked items, then confirm the deletion through iOS.

This feature finds media to remove. It does not compress a clip, reduce its resolution or create a smaller replacement. If you need the original recording, keep or independently archive it rather than expecting the cleaner to make it smaller without a tradeoff.

Check the result without relying on a promise

Read the final deletion dialog and review the selection. Size values in cleanup screens are estimates; the operating system controls actual local storage accounting. A device’s storage display may take time to settle after changes.

Do not permanently erase Recently Deleted simply to make a progress figure match your expectation. That is a separate, potentially irreversible choice. If the phone is still full, return to the category breakdown and work through the storage-full checklist rather than deleting increasingly important clips.
