How to check photo storage on your iPhone
Find Photos in iPhone Storage, inspect individual media information, and avoid confusing device usage with your iCloud account’s storage quota.

Open Settings → General → iPhone Storage, then review Photos in the category breakdown and app list. For your cloud quota, check Settings → your name → iCloud instead. These are different storage screens.
Find the local usage before choosing a cleanup
Let the iPhone Storage screen load its categories and recommendations. Look at the relative size of Photos alongside the other content on the device. A full phone does not necessarily mean the photo library is its largest problem.
Use the screen to choose a relevant next task. If media is substantial, review unwanted photos and videos. If another app or category dominates, use its supported controls rather than assuming a photo cleaner can remove it.
Inspect a file when size matters
In Photos, open a video or photo and use its information view. Apple documents file information there, including size details. This can help you understand why one recording is worth reviewing before many small images.
A file’s duration or thumbnail alone does not establish its size. Nor does the information view prove that the app has a universal largest-first sorting control. For a focused set, see the large-video guide.
Check iCloud separately
The iCloud screen reports your account’s cloud storage rather than the physical space on the phone. Optimization can change how photos are held locally, while the full library still occupies cloud storage.
Keep that distinction in mind before purchasing storage or deleting media. A synchronized deletion can affect the cloud library too; it is not automatically a local-only action.
Use estimates as a starting point
Pixtrim’s cleanup screens can help you review a bounded selection, but estimated media sizes are not a guarantee of immediately reclaimed local bytes. iOS controls storage accounting and the way optimized files are held.
Measure the result in the relevant system screen after it updates. A useful cleanup removes things you no longer need, not simply enough thumbnails to reach an arbitrary counter.
